As a puppy of the pandemic era, I grew up with quite a limited world. We couldn’t visit any dog parks or go on many adventures. I wasn’t fully able to develop my social skills or play style, and when I met new people, I only got to meet ½ of their faces. It was just me, my 5 chihuahua siblings and our owner. For the most part, life was good. Then the unthinkable happened. We lost our owner; one day they were there and the next they weren’t.
My siblings and I were surrendered to the local shelter where we were promptly separated. They gave us all numbers and stat sheets based on the paperwork my owner had, and we each were assigned a kennel number, pillow, and blanket. I remember how scared and alone I felt.
I learned a lot in my shelter days and eventually met my new forever family, but it was not easy. It took a while, but once I found my confidence, became best friends with my new fur sister, and attended online Visual Communication classes with my new mom, we founded a blog called “The Rover Reporters” where I am the Art Director, Illustrator, and Head Writer. Our goal is to reach as many shelter dogs as possible and give them hope and advice for their next adventures which we are hopeful they will all get to have!
We look forward to sharing our adventures, advice and love with all of you!
